For any youth enrolled in the 4-H market goat project. Attendance will satisfy annual quality assurance certification. Participants will learn about showmanship, selection, feeding, and other essential topics.

Most non-livestock projects were judged at pre-fair judging, held on June 30 at West Union High School. Members enrolled in these projects brought their completed project books and an exhibit or display to the pre-fair judging and participated in a face-to-face interview with a judge. Many of the members who earned first place for their work (and some of the second place participants) will represent Adams County in similar judgings and events at the Ohio State Fair in Columbus, July 23-August 3.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Agriculture today (6/17) announced the first discovery of Asian longhorned beetle (ALB) in Ohio. An exotic, invasive insect that kills maples and other trees, ALB was found in Bethel, Clermont County, in southwest Ohio.
