Show Your 4-H Spirit with a Specialty License Plate!

Ohio 4-H license plates are available. For each plate sold, Ohio 4-H gets $15. This could be a successful fundraiser for Ohio 4-H if ALL of our 4-H families and alumni would purchase a set of these plates!

During the summer of 2008, petitions were circulated to establish through the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) an Ohio 4-H specialty license plate.  This petition process was successful, and the Ohio 4-H license plates were first made available during January of 2009.  The Ohio 4-H specialty license plate can be viewed at: http://bmv.ohio.gov/sp_ohio_4h.stm, and you can purchase or renew 4-H specialty plates at https://www.oplates.com/.

The law that established this opportunity also states that a particular specialty license plate will continue only if at least 500 are ordered or renewed each year.  For calendar year 2010, approximately 200 Ohio 4-H specialty license plates were ordered or renewed.  Earlier this month, the State 4-H Office received a BMV notification that if there were not a total of 500 Ohio 4-H license plates ordered or renewed by December 31, 2011, the Ohio 4-H license plate would be discontinued.

Ohio 4-H receives $15 for each Ohio 4-H license plate ordered or renewed.  This could be a significant source of income for 4-H, and it is a very visible public relations tool.

Do your part! Order a set of the Ohio 4-H specialty license plates for your car today!
