The Adams County 4-H Program is hosting a “Mini Maker Festival” at the upcoming Adams County Fair on Thursday, July 13 from 12:00-4:00 p.m. in the Youth Activities Building at the fairgrounds. This event is free of charge and intended for youth ages 10-14.
Our Mini Maker Festival is an educational opportunity at which youth can be introduced to and participate in hands-on “making.” Making, or the Maker Movement, is the idea of being able to create. We will have STEAM oriented stations, where “making” will take place, that include, but are not limited to: Makey Makey, Cupcake Decorating, Fidget Spinner Making, Hands-on Robotics, Sphero Chariot Races (an engineering design activity), LED 4-H Badges (a soldering activity), and much more! Those who participate will have the opportunity to make and take several of their creations home.
The stations mentioned will be overseen by community volunteers, 4-H teens, and local crafters that have a passion for making. Also participating in this event will be mentors and members of the Adams County 4-H Tech Wizards Program.
This festival is made possible in part by a grant from the Ohio 4-H Foundation. Planning for this Mini Maker Festival is brought to you by OSU Extension Adams County. For more information, contact the office at (937)544-2339.
